Private Dinner Party, Rob and Shaz, Wiltshire
This weekend, ChefGay travelled to Melksham in Wiltshire, cooking an exciting gourmet tasting menu for 6 fabulous guests. Being a return visit to a very familiar kitchen, it was a pleasure to be back and cook up each dish and be part of the evening's celebrations. Starting with a delicious array of canapes and then having no less than seven more courses the dinner party was a brilliant experience and success all round.
Chef's choice, decadent array of canapes
Sea bass and dill fish cake, buttered asparagus spears, horseradish,
Wild mushroom and truffle soup,
truffle foam, wild mushroom toasts,
Crisp confit of pork belly, sea salt crackling, peas, qual's egg,
Garlic and chilli King prawn,
egg noddles, lemongrass and coriander broth,
Mango and lime sorbet,
Seared fillet of beef, slow braised and smoked short rib,
hand cut chips, glazed carrots, baby corn, tender stem broccoli,
Trio of desserts:
Salted caramel and chocolate brownie,
Raspberry and meringue "fool"
Strawberry and white chocolate cheese cake.
